Efsiad, The European Committee of Industrial Furnace, Heating and Metallurgical Equipment Associations (shortened as Cecof), hosted the general assembly. The event, organized by the association to which we are a member, took place between October 18-21 at the Swiss Hotel in Istanbul and was conducted in four stages.
On the first evening, a welcome cocktail was held at the Swiss Hotel. We thank our members who sponsored the opening cocktail, Mr. Oğuz Baykal, Chairman of Baykal Rezistans, and Mr. Malik Aviral, Board Member of Elimko.
On the first official day, facility tours were organized. Factory visits were made to Sistem Teknik Sanayi Fırınları A.Ş. and Alpha Metalurji in the TOSB campus. Our guests who visited both facilities were quite impressed. We extend our gratitude to Ms. Beste Özdeşlik, Board Member of Sistem Teknik, and Dr. Hasan Çep, Board Member of Alpha, for allowing us into their facilities and hosting our guests so graciously.
After the facility visits, we gathered for dinner at the Swiss Hotel.
On the second day, the general assembly began in the morning with country presentations. The country report was presented by Mr. Cihan Acaroğlu. Additionally, Dr. Hasan Çep, Chairman of Efsiad’s Board, delivered a detailed presentation on the future vision of the industrial furnace sector and our country’s place and importance in the world.
During the meeting, we presented ceramic plaques with Istanbul-themed motifs inspired by Anatolian patterns to all delegates attending the meeting. After Dr. Hasan Çep’s presentation, a plaque was presented to Mr. Rene Branders, Chairman of Cecof, to express our gratitude for his contributions. Mr. Rene Branders conveyed his satisfaction with the hosting.
At the end of the General Assembly, all delegates attended the Gala Dinner, sponsored by Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcılık. Our Bosphorus tour, held on the “Champs-Élysées” cruise ship of Swiss Hotel, enchanted both local and international guests, who left the tour with great happiness, captivated by the magic of the Bosphorus. We extend our thanks to our Gala Dinner sponsor, Mr. İbrahim Anıl, General Manager of Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcılık A.Ş., and Mr. Mehmet Akyüz, Deputy General Manager, for their support.
Following the official program, a sightseeing tour was organized for our guests, many of whom were visiting Turkey for the first time. The itinerary included the Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar. Accompanied by a professional guide, our guests toured these historical wonders and left our country with positive feelings.
