We Attended the CECOF General Assembly
The General Assembly of CECOF — The European Committee of Industrial Furnace, Heating and Metallurgical Equipment Association — was held this year in Bergamo, Italy. The program took place between 10–13 September 2025, beginning with a welcome dinner on the first day. On the second day, participants visited the Duferco Steel facilities located in the Brescia region of Italy. The General Assembly meeting itself was held on 12 September.
Efsiad proudly represents Türkiye’s “Makineciler” brand on the global stage and places great importance on engaging with international industry stakeholders. Reflecting this commitment, Efsiad participated in the CECOF General Assembly with a strong delegation: Efsiad Chairwoman Beste Özdeşlik, Vice Chairman Oğuz Baykal, Board Members Ezgi Özyurt and Burak Aksoy, Former Chairman Cihan Acaroğlu, and Secretary General Mikail Altıkulaç.
During the assembly, key topics such as trade wars, the Green Transition, and trends in the defense industry were discussed. At the opening session, Prof. Daniele Siena from Politecnico di Milano delivered an insightful presentation on Europe’s economic landscape and the impact of U.S. sanctions on the investment climate. Representatives and presidents from each member country then presented their national reports, explaining how these economic dynamics and sanctions are affecting their respective industries.
Representing Türkiye, Efsiad Chairwoman Beste Özdeşlik delivered her presentation successfully, contributing valuable insights to the European dialogue.
